Frequently Asked Questions about
Internet Testing for Duane Gomer, Inc. Courses
- Q. May I take tests for Continuing Education and College-Level Home Study Courses
on the Internet?
- Yes.
- Q. Do all education companies have this procedure?
- No. Very few do.
- Q. How do I get started?
- You register for your courses with our office so home-study materials can be
shipped to you. You study the materials and the practice questions and when you
are ready to test, contact our office for the password to take the tests. When
the materials are shipped to you, you will be given the username for each individual
course.
- Q. Are there any time restraints on getting the passwords?
- Anyone taking the four mandated courses (Ethics, Agency, Trust Funds, Fair
Housing) can request a password 24 hours after receiving the materials. Anyone
taking a 45 Hour Renewal Program must have the courses a minimum of 5 days. Anyone taking
Broker Courses or a Principles Course to get a license must wait 2 1/2 weeks (18 days)
per course after receipt of the course materials.
- Q. How long do I have to complete any program?
- One year, and then you must reorder and pay an additional fee.
- Q. How do I request the password?
- You can request a password by
e-mail,
fax, phone or regular mail.
- Q. How long is the wait to get a password?
- We are quick, but we never hurry. As you might understand, we process many
requests per day, but we guarantee that any request received by noon will be
completed before our office closes at 3:00pm.
- Q. After I get my password, what do I do?
- You go to our Web site (www.DuaneGomer.com), click on the "Internet Classroom" link,
select the course title for the exam you want to take,
and carefully enter your User Name and Password. After the test appears, enter your
name and address, your e-mail address, and either your DRE license or Social Security Number.
Read each question and answer on the screen. After completing the exam, click on
the "SUBMIT" button to transmit the test to us.
Your grade will be posted immediately on the screen. Your grade and other information
will be transmitted to you and our office by e-mail at once. You will be given complete
instructions on printing your certificate if your grade is over 60% (70% for all Continuing Education courses)
on the easy exams.
- Q. Do you have any other insights?
- Most problems arise because students don't read the instructions and testing
tips before starting the exam. We have had thousands of students take these tests
and our instruction tips discuss their problems so you won't repeat them.
Also, we recommend that you record each answer on a form provided. Some problems are,
students hit incorrect keys and lose the test; Internet Service Providers (ISPs)
automatically disconnect the connection when it doesn't "sense" Internet activity
after a pre-configured time span; a problem arises during testing, and the student
stops testing, etc. There is no time limit on the test and obviously you are free
to use your home-study materials.
- Q. What if I have other questions?
- You may go to our FAQ Index, FAX to (949)
455-9931, or call (949) 457 - 8930 or (800) 439-4909, or send us an
e-mail.
Our business hours are 9:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Friday. (Remember the excellent
DRE Web site is www.dre.ca.gov).
