NINE REASONS TO GET A BROKER'S LICENSE
- How about this close, "Mr. & Mrs. Homeseller, you have been talking to
the other companies. I have a Broker's license which indicates more education
and experience. Did any of my competitors continue their studies and get a
Broker's license?" Could this get you a listing sometime in your career?
- If you have a Broker's License, you can work as an Associate for different
companies at the same time if your bosses allow you to do so. You can sell
and property manage or sell and broker loans, etc.
- If you received your license after 1/1/86, you already have at least three
courses done for sure and would need only five more. A piece of cake.
- You never know when you will need or want one. Every day, we get calls
from salespersons needing a quick Broker's license. When they have none of
the courses completed, it can take 144 days minimum for the courses, plus
test taking, grading, waiting to take the State Exam, etc., so start now.
- If as a Broker, you were hiring someone for a job and two people (each
with 10 years experience) applied, and one had enough motivation to get a
broker's license and the other didn't, which one would you hire?
- Some companies are now requiring all partners, managers and associates
to be licensed as Brokers. Another example is if a married couple owns a
company, both should be brokers. People die, divorce, etc. and there is
no one to carry on. We get calls all of the time from licensees who need
a license that day.
- The old theory "There is more liability if you have a Broker's license"
is a myth. Also, you can still continue working for someone else if that is
your choice. The cost of renewing a Broker's license is now $27.50 per year
and a sales license is $16.25 per year - not much difference in cost to be
a Broker.
- If you are retired or just want to buy a new home, and you are a Broker,
you do the math and you will understand the benefits. As a Broker you can
property manage, be a loan broker, sell business opportunities, have your
own office, etc.
- Courses have open-book or computer testing, 60% passing grade, no
homework or essays to submit, etc. We have practice questions and cassette
tapes that will get you ready for the State Exam. If you have ANY college courses from the past, send us
your transcripts for evaluation to determine if you can get any DRE credits. This includes Business Law, Accounting,
Economics, and other college-level real estate related courses.
